The latest Giallorossi acquisition is eager to make an instant impact in the Italian top flight, and is backing the capital club to challenge on all fronts in the coming campaign
The right-back secured a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico from Paraguayan outfit Deportivo Maldonado, with a view to a €4 million permanent transfer at the end of the 2012-13 season.
"Now I am here and ready for a new adventure in a new league. I want to do well," he said at the press conference confirming his transfer.
"I'm happy to be here and I think that with the great squad we have got, we have a good chance of winning something."
The Paraguay international has been impressed by the Giallorossi set-up in his short time at the club and hopes to live up to the standards set by his esteemed team-mates.
"[Francesco] Totti is Roma's talisman – he's one of the best players I've ever seen in action. Then there's a youngster with enormous promise in [Erik] Lamela and a very experienced player such as [Nicolas] Burdisso, who are both South American like me.
"It's an honour for me to be training and playing alongside all of them."
Roma have spent €32.5m in the summer transfer window, bringing in major signings such as Mattia Destro from Genoa and Italian international Federico Balzaretti from Palermo.
