Giampaolo Pazzini could be on his way to Juventus this summer, with the side ready to send Fabio Quagliarella in the opposite direction to Inter, Goal.com can reveal.
The Old Lady are desperate to sign a striker with international pedigree this summer, and they believe the 28-year-old fits their criteria, having failed to bring in the likes of Edinson Cavani and Robin van Persie.
General director Giuseppe Marotta previously worked with the forward at Sampdoria, and he welcomes the idea of a reunion at Juve.
Nevertheless, the Scudetto holders have no intention of spending big on Pazzini and are therefore looking at alternative ways to lure their man to Turin.
They realise that Inter are unlikely to accept a one-year loan offer with an option to buy, leaving the door ajar to a possible player-exchange deal.
Inter are keen on Uruguay international Martin Caceres, but the Bianconeri do not want to part company with the versatile defender.
Instead, they are willing to include the Quagliarella, 29, in the deal, as the attacker is not regarded as an integral first-team member in Turin.
Talks between both clubs are still in the initial stages, but Juve and Inter will continue talks in the upcoming days to see whether an agreement can be reached.
