The Rossoneri are keen to lure the Frenchman to San Siro this summer, and they have now revealed that a bid has been tabled for the defender
The Rossoneri are in the market for defensive reinforcements due to the departure of Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, as well as the exit of veteran Alessandro Nesta, and they have made the signing of the 23-year-old Yanga-Mbiwa their top priority.
"We have made an offer and we'll travel to Montpellier shortly. We'll see what happens. It's a matter of money," Galliani stated to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Yanga-Mbiwa has a contract with Montpellier until the summer of 2013, but Milan hope that an offer in the region of €7 million (£5.5m) will be enough to lure the defender away from the Ligue 1 champions.
It is understood that the Serie A giants have already agreed terms with the centre-back over a five-year deal worth €1.5m (£1.2m) per season.
