The Italian youngster is allegedly close to completing a move to the Stadio Olimpico after weeks of speculation about his future at the Artemio FranchiSiena defender Massimo Paci has confirmed that Mattia Destro has agreed to join Roma in the summer.
The 20-year-old attacker, who is co-owned by the Robur and Genoa, has been heavily linked with a move to a Serie A giant in recent weeks after impressing for the Artemio Franchi outfit last season, scoring 12 league goals.
Siena director Stefano Antonelli revealed on Sunday that he expected Destro to join Roma 'imminently', and now Paci has declared that his team-mate has finally made up his mind.
"We learned yesterday [Monday] that he had chosen Roma, but it is not official yet, so we should wait," Paci told Sky Sport Italia.
"He is also from Ascoli-Piceno and he made a great impression on him, just like when I saw Giuseppe Rossi for the first time. They showed the same humility,"
According to reports in Italy, Destro is currently in the Italian capital with his agent to meet with Roma director Walter Sabatini.
