The Slovenia international has voiced his respect for the Juventus goalkeeper and former Manchester United star, while revealing his delight with his move to Inter
The Slovenia international completed his move from Udinese to the Nerazzurri earlier in July, and is delighted to have joined the San Siro outfit after a number of impressive seasons with the Zebrette.
"Inter are the top club that I had set my sights on. I have always worked hard to join a club like this, where we can fight for silverware," Handanovic said at a press conference.
"I have always admired Schmeichel, while I also think highly of Buffon, who has been an absolute monster in the past 10 years."
The glovesman then went on to discuss the situation of Julio Cesar, who has been Inter's No.1 in the past few seasons, but could now be on his way out.
"I have a lot of respect for him. He's a great goalkeeper, but I have nothing to do with his situation. I can only do my utmost for the team.
"I don't look at who was here before me. I have to start from scratch again."
Handanovic recently signed a contract until June 2016 with the Giuseppe Meazza side.
