The former Rossoneri star feels that there is plenty of reason for optimism at his old club, despite the departure of a number of first-team regulars
The Dynamo Kiev attacker still keeps tabs on his old club, and believes that the Rossoneri have enough talented players left to challenge for top honours.
"I always follow Milan very closely and I am always in contact with [Ariedo] Braida, [Adriano] Galliani and my former team-mates," Shevchenko was quoted as saying by Milannews.it.
"I have no doubt regarding the current team: they are still very competitive. They decided to keep Thiago Silva, and have [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Kevin-Prince] Boateng, [Antonio] Nocerino and other quality players. You must be optimistic."
Shevchenko scored 127 goals for Milan in 226 Serie A appearances for the San Siro side.
