thumbnail Hello,

The centre-back has insisted that the Nerazzurri will return to winning ways next season and that he is determined to lift trophies once more after a sixth-placed finish

Walter Samuel has insisted that Inter are not finished yet, and that he is desperate to prove the clubs's critics wrong in the 2012-13 campaign.

The 2010 Champions League winners had to settle for sixth spot in the Serie A table this term after enduring a largely disappointing campaign, and the Argentine veteran is eager to return to winning ways next season.

"We want to prove that we are not finished yet," the 34-year-old said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Winning is in our DNA and we want to go back to winning next season. The difficult moments in the past few months were just stepping stones on our way back.

"Winning the Europa League is one of our main objectives. We can play for the European Super Cup again if we win this competition, and that's the only trophy we missed out on in our treble-winning year.

"We are still hungry for success. We want to win the Europa League and then the European Super Cup. We want to write history once more."

Samuel made 27 Serie A appearances in the 2011-12 campaign, and recently signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2013.
