Juventus have made Manchester City and Chelsea target Edinson Cavani their top priority for the summer transfer window, Goal.com has learned.

The Serie A leaders are desperate to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2012-13 campaign, and are also keeping tabs on Arsenal's Robin van Persie as revealed by Goal.com earlier this week.

However, the 25-year-old Napoli forward is believed to be the Bianconeri's top candidate, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a return to Champions League action next season.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis stated earlier this week that he believes the former Palermo star will not be on the move at the end of the season, but Cavani refused to rule out a summer transfer at the weekend.

Both Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta and coach Antonio Conte see the prolific striker as the perfect addition to the Old Lady's attack, and they are closely monitoring Cavani's situation at the Partenopei.

The Uruguayan has a contract with Napoli until the summer of 2016, and he has a valuation of around €30 million (£25m), but the Bianconeri are hopeful of lowering Napoli's demands by including either Sebastian Giovinco or Alessandro Matri in the deal.

Juventus have yet to make an official approach for Cavani, but the Turin side are expected to contact Napoli in the coming weeks to discuss a potential transfer.
