The experienced striker's contract at the Rossoneri expires at the end of the season and he could be on his way back to the Orobici in the upcoming transfer window
Filippo Inzaghi is heading for an exit from AC Milan as Atalanta have shown interest in luring the veteran attacker to Bergamo this summer, Tuttosport reports.
The 38-year-old has an expiring contract at the Rossoneri, and is unlikely to sign a new deal with his current club as he wants regular first-team action.
Inzaghi has mainly been warming the bench at AC Milan in the 2011-12 campaign, and has made only six Serie A appearances so far this term.
Atalanta reportedly still believe the striker has what it takes to be successful in the Italian top flight, though, and are ready to offer him a contract as they are looking for a strike partner for German Denis.
Inzaghi previously wore the Atalanta jersey in 1996-97, scoring 24 goals in 33 league appearances, before transferring to Juventus.
