Fiorentina admit £21m Chelsea target Stevan Jovetic could be sold
The Montenegrin attacker has been on form for the Florence club this season with reports suggesting a recent bid was rejected, but a long-term contract means the price will be high
By Ryan Benson
Fiorentina have revealed that reported Chelsea target Stevan Jovetic could be sold if the club receive an “indecent proposal”.
The Montenegro international has been in impressive form for the Serie A side this season, scoring 12 goals in 17 league matches, and this impressive form has seen him linked with a £21 million move to Chelsea in the Italian media.
Fiorentina club manager Vincenzo Guerini has moved to inform fans that they are planning on keeping the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Serie A rivals Napoli, and building a team around him, but he had to admit that if a good enough bid came in, they’d have to consider it.
Speaking to Radio CRC, Guerini said: “Around Jovetic we are building something important because the club is happy with him.
“I did not expect that he would play so many games and put in these performances after his knee injury.
“Jovetic to Napoli? The intention of the board is that we build a group around him, however in today's world the word 'unsellable' no longer exists.
“If there arrives an indecent proposal, and it is possible that it could arrive, then we will consider it.”
