Serie A Betting preview: Roma to edge out Siena on Monday evening
Luis Enrique's men have been on a good run of form in recent weeks and tipster William Duncan is backing them to claim another victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi
By William Duncan
Since the middle of December, Roma have enjoyed a fine run of results, tasting defeat just once and they can be backed at an attractive 13/10 (2.10) with William Hill to pick up another victory as they look to force their way into the hunt for Champions League qualification.
Meanwhile, hosts Siena have savoured Coppa Italia victories over Napoli, Chievo, Palermo and Cagliari but success in Serie A has been rare. In fact, a shock 4-0 win against Lazio on January 7th represented their first league victory since October and they are 23/10 (3.30) with William Hill to see off Roma. The draw is rated as a 21/10 (3.10) shot with the same firm.
Siena have depended heavily on Emanuele Calaio for goals this season; the striker has bagged nine goals in twenty appearances this term, four in his last five matches and he is 6/1 (7.00) to score the opener here.
Roma go into this match without top scorer Pablo Osvaldo, who is unavailable through injury, and are likely to look for Fabio Borini and Francesco Totti to provide their goal threat. Both can be backed at 9/2 (5.50) with William Hill to draw first blood in Monday’s encounter.
Despite that incredible 4-0 victory over Lazio a few weeks ago, Siena have struggled for goals this season scoring just 21 in their 21 league outings and William Hill’s offer of 11/4 (3.75) for Roma to win to nil looks enticing as does the 11/1 (12.00) on offer from Hills for the visitors to enjoy a 2-0 victory on Monday.Siena’s Coppa Italia form might give them hope but Roma look to have found themselves at just the right time and they should prove too strong on Monday. So take the odds of 13/10 (2.30) for an away win while the 11/4 (3.75) for Roma to keep a clean sheet provides a little extra value.
Bet of the day: Roma to win at 13/10 (2.30) with William Hill
Value bet: Roma to win to nil at 11/4 (3.75) with William Hill
