Inter have been boosted by the news that Wesley Sneijder looks set to return to action against Novara this weekend.

The Dutchman sat out Sunday's 4-0 loss to Roma with a leg injury sustained during last week's draw with Palermo at the San Siro.

However, Sneijder returned to training on Wednesday and came through a 90-minute session with his team-mates unscathed, putting him in the frame to face Novara at the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ricky Alvarez, who also missed the trip to the Stadio Olimpico, came through training without any problems for the second successive day, while Diego Forlan, Dejan Stankovic, Juan and Giampaolo Pazzini also played a full part in the workout.

However, new signing Fredy Guarin and Walter Samuel both trained apart from the rest of the squad as they continue their recovery from their respective injuries.

Guarin has not featured since joining from Porto at the tail end of the transfer window because of a calf problem, while Samuel has been ruled out for a couple of weeks due to a muscle strain.
