Giorgio FREZZOLINI
Atalanta
TOTW Apps: 1
| Coming on to replace the red-carded Andrea Consigli in the Atalanta goal, Frezzolini was nearly a hero for the Bergamo-based side, keeping the game alive for the visitors at the Stadio Renzo Barbera with several fine saves, though in the end it was not enough as his team lost 2-1 to Palermo. |
| DEFENDERS |
Jose ANGEL Roma TOTW Apps: 1 |
Andrea LISUZZO Novara TOTW Apps: 1 |
Luca ROSSETTINI Siena TOTW Apps: 1 |
Manuel PASQUAL Fiorentina TOTW Apps: 2 |

| Full-back Jose Angel caused the Nerazzurri all sorts of problems going forward, his crossing, neat interplay with Francesco Totti, and runs down the wing made him a star performer in the first half while he took a conservative, yet no less effective, defensive stance after the break. Lisuzzo has only played in a handful of matches this season, but his presence earned a rare point for the minnows as he made a late goal-line clearance to keep Cagliari from taking all the spoils. Juventus could find no way to break down Siena and certainly no way to get past Rossettini on Sunday, the centre-back denied Alessandro Matri and Co. time and time again in Turin. Fiorentina edged Udinese 3-2 and Pasqual's ability to get down the left flank had a hand in two of their goals, literally, as one of his crosses led to a penalty after a handball in the area and another assisted Mattia Cassani's effort. |

| MIDFIELDERS |
Bosko JANKOVIC Genoa TOTW Apps: 1 |
Miralem PJANIC Roma TOTW Apps: 3 |
Senad LULIC Lazio TOTW Apps: 2 |
||
| Since Pasquale Marino has been appointed coach at Genoa, Jankovic has certainly benefitted. The playmaker put in a shining display to down Lazio and it consisted of an assist from a corner and two low finishes to beat goalkeeper Federico Marchetti to put the game beyond reach. Meanwhile, Pjanic executed the Giallorossi's offence to perfection against Inter and had an incredible 96 per cent pass completion rate, dominating the middle of the park alongside Daniele De Rossi. Another Bosnia and Herzegovina international who was a key contributor was Lulic, but that was in midweek. The left-sided winger was the outlet for Lazio on the counter and set up the clinching goal for Tommaso Rocchi in a 2-0 victory over champions AC Milan. |

| FORWARDS |
Fabio BORINI Roma TOTW Apps: 1 |
Diego MILITO Inter TOTW Apps: 3 |
Fabrizio MICCOLI Palermo TOTW Apps: 3 |
||||
| However, the undoubted name that stole all the headlines in Rome was Borini. The young striker's brace helped condemn the Nerazzurri to a 4-0 loss, his first goal embarrassing Walter Samuel. Milito was starved of service at the Stadio Olimpico, but just days earlier had accomplished an historic feat by banging in four goals during a 4-4 thriller versus Palermo. Finally, following his own superb hat-trick this past Wednesday at San Siro, Miccoli was once again the hero in pink with a strike from the penalty spot and a role in Igor Budan's scrappy winner. There is no question he has discovered the secret to rediscovering his best form, having now reached 10 goals in the 2011-12 campaign. |
