Angelo Palombo will make his first start for Inter in Sunday afternoon's Serie A clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, while his former Italy team-mate Daniele De Rossi returns to the home side's midfield after injury.

Palombo made his Nerazzurri debut on Wednesday as a substitute in the snow-affected 4-4 draw with Palermo. But with Wesley Sneijder and Ricardo Alvarez both having failed to make the trip to the capital, coach Claudio Ranieri - taking charge of his 600th senior fixture - has opted to start with the former Sampdoria skipper in a 4-4-2 formation.

De Rossi's return after injury comes as a timely bost for Giallorossi boss Luis Enrique as his side aim to bounce back from the 4-2 midweek defeat to Cagliari in Sardinia.

The 15.00CET clash goes ahead as planned after frost was cleared from the Olimpico pitch this morning. It had originally been scheduled to take place on Saturday evening, then Saturday afternoon, but snowfall in Rome on Friday saw the fixture put back by 24 hours.

Roma (4-3-3): Stekelenburg; Taddei, Juan, Heinze, Jose Angel; Gago, De Rossi, Pjanic; Borini, Totti, Lamela.

Subs: Lobont, Rosi, Kjaer, Greco, Simplicio, Piscitella, Bojan.

Inter (4-4-2): Julio Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Nagatomo; Zanetti, Palombo, Cambiasso, Obi; Pazzini, Milito.

Subs: Castellazzi, Ranocchia, Cordoba, Chivu, Faraoni, Poli, Castaignos.
