Juventus are keen to hold on until goakeeper Gianluigi Buffon until the end of his active career, and are ready to open talks with the Italy international about extending his current deal, Tuttosport reports.

Buffon has a contract with the Bianconeri until the summer of 2013, but the club keen to reward him for his loyalty toward the club by offering him a new long-term deal.

The glovesman joined Juventus from Parma in the summer of 2001, and has since made over 300 league appearances for the Old Lady.

Unlike former team-mates such as Lilian Thuram, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira, Buffon opted to stay put at the Turin outfit after Juventus were relegated to Serie B for their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.

Talks with Buffon are not the club's absolute top priority, but general director Giuseppe Marotta is expected to open negotiations in the coming weeks.
