Fredy Guarin has spoken of his delight at securing a move to Inter, describing the Serie A club as 'an institution'.

The Colombia international has signed for Inter on a six-month loan deal, with the Milan-based side keeping the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

"I am happy, really happy to be here in this great team," Guarin told Inter Channel.

"Inter are a great big family. It is a matter of pride to me. Inter are an institution.

"For the moment I have only worn the blue and black shirt for the official photo and it was already a thrill for me. I really am very happy."

Guarin, who struggled to make his mark at Porto this season, then said he is looking to settle in at San Siro as quickly as possible.

"I understand some Italian but it is quite difficult to speak," he added. "But now I will learn it, as I have done in the past in the other countries I have lived in."

The 25-year-old midfielder has reportedly been ruled out for three weeks after his medical revealed a calf problem.
