Inter have learned that new arrival Fredy Guarin will not be in a position to make his Serie A debut for at least three weeks.
The Colombia international joined Claudio Ranieri's men from Porto on transfer deadline day and supporters had hoped to get a glimpse of their new arrival in Wednesday's clash with Palermo at San Siro.
However, according to Goal.com Italy, club doctors discovered during the player's medical on Tuesday that Guarin has a calf problem which will require between three or four weeks on the sidelines.
However, while Guarin is not available for the visit of the Sicilians, fellow new signing Angelo Palombo is expected to be on the bench and could feature at some point.
Inter go into the game just a point behind fourth-place Lazio and hoping to bridge the gap to the Champions League places.
