Roma have completed the signing of Brazilian wing-back Marquinho from Fluminense on a loan deal until the end of the season. The transfer has been confirmed on the official Lega Serie A website.
The Serie A outfit were keen to add a left footed midfielder to their squad and were previously linked with Groningen star Dusan Tadic.
However, they turned their attention to Marquinho after the Eredivisie side turned down Roma's offer for the Serbia international.
The 25-year-old Marquinho, who can play both as a wing-back and in midfield, started his professional career with Palmeiras, and also wore the jerseys of Botafogo and Figueirense before joining Fluminense in 2009.
He had since developed into a key player at Flu, and has now earned himself a transfer to the Giallorossi with his good performances.
