Juventus have revealed on their official website that Sevilla defender Martin Caceres is currently undergoing a medical at the club, and will sign a contract with the Old Lady upon passing his physical tests.

Both sides had long been in talks about a winter transfer, and the Spaniards announced on Thursday that they had reached an agreement with the Serie A giants.

Juve have agreed to pay an initial €1.5 million (£1.24m) to take Caceres on-loan for the remainder of the season before purchasing the player outright for €8m (£6.6m) in the summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 24-year-old defender previously wore the Juventus jersey in the 2009-10 campaign, when he was on-loan from Barcelona, but then moved to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on a temporary deal before signing for Marcelino Garcia Toral's side permanently last summer.

Juventus are expected to announce the completion of Caceres' transfer later on Friday.
