AC Milan's Massimiliano Allegri pleased with 3-1 Coppa Italia display against Lazio

The 44-year-old coach believes that his side had a good match against the Rome-based club, while refusing to disclose the name of the new striker

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri was understandably elated in the wake of his side's 3-1 Coppa Italia victory against Lazio.

Goals from Robinho and Clarence Seedorf in the opening 20 minutes and a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike allowed Milan to earn a semi-final showdown against Juventus, after Djibril Cisse had scored for the visitors just five minutes in.

"Overall, we had a good match," he said after the match. "We really wanted to reach the semi finals and that is what happened.

"In the first half, Marco Amelia made two important saves, while we had several chances on goal and we scored twice.

"After the break, there were some situations in which we made a wrong choice in the last pass."

Allegri then minimised the fact that his side will have to tackle Serie A leaders Juventus for a place in the final.

"Regardless of the fact that we are facing Juve, we want to go through, because last year we crashed out in the semi-finals," he noted.

Maxi Lopez was spotted in the stands during the match at San Siro, but the 44-year-old coach was non-committal when asked if Milan would sign the Catania striker or Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.

"Let us wait for tomorrow [Friday]," Allegri added.
