Sevilla have confirmed that defender Martin Caceres is set to join Serie A league leaders Juventus.

The Spanish outfit announced on their official website on Thursday afternoon that the Uruguay international will sign for the Bianconeri after undergoing a medical in Turin.

Juve have agreed to pay an initial €1.5 million to take Caceres on loan for the remainder of the season before purchasing the player outright for €8m in the summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport

The signing of the 24-year-old, who has been capped 38 times by his country, means that there will be no room left in Antonio Conte's squad for another of the club's reported South American targets, Porto's Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin, due to the two-foreigner rule in Italian football.

Goal.com understands, though, that the signing of Caceres will not prompt Leonardo Bonucci to seek a move away from Turin before the close of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, Sevilla have also announced that Emiliano Armenteros has travelled to Madrid for a medical ahead of his proposed move to Rayo Vallecano.
