Juventus are on the verge of completing the signing of Martin Caceres from Sevilla.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri have agreed to pay an initial €1.5 million to take the Uruguay international on loan for the remainder of the season before purchasing the player outright for €8m in the summer.

Caceres, who enjoyed a previous loan spell with Juve during the 2009-10 season, is expected to arrive in Turin on Thursday morning to undergo a medical before signing a contract with the Serie A leaders.

The imminent acquisition of the 24-year-old defender, who has been capped 38 times by his country, means that there will be no room left in Antonio Conte's squad for another of the club's reported South American targets, Porto's Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin, due to the two-foreigner rule in Italian football.
