Catania's Maxi Lopez will sign for AC Milan, says agent
The Argentine striker's representative says that his client will join the Serie A champions despite Manchester City's Carlos Tevez being their primary transfer target
By Luis Mira
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani admitted on Monday that his side would try to sign Lopez in case they were rebuffed in their chase of Manchester City wantaway Carlos Tevez.
"We have done all that we had to do, now the decision is in Milan's hands," Andrea D'Amico told Mediaset Premium.
"We know that there is still some time left, we will see what happens.
"We know that Milan want to keep their word regarding Tevez, but we are sure that Maxi will join Milan."
Galliani has ruled out the possibility of Milan signing both strikers in January, but D'Amico believes that the Argentine pair are compatible.
"I think that they are both useful, they complement each other," he noted. "Tevez is cup-tied in the Champions League and it will take him a month to get back in shape.
"Apart from that, Maxi Lopez's arrival would be very important, but that is my personal opinion."
Milan have already reached an agreement with Catania, with fresh reports suggesting that the San Siro outfit have set a deadline of Friday to sign Tevez or they will sign Lopez.
