Juventus have made a tentative approach for Porto midfielder Fredy Guarin, according to the player's agent.
The Colombian's representative claimed that the Bianconeri have merely sounded him out about a possible January move to Turin.
"There are only preliminary negotiations with Juventus," agent Marcelo Ferreyra told Tuttosport. "Nothing official, we are just at the stage of exchanging information.
“At the moment they have spoken only with us and not with the club, [so] it’s hard to say if Guarin could move in January.”
It was reported last week that Juve, who are looking to strengthen their midfield during the current transfer window, had already tabled a £9.2 million bid for the player but that Porto are holding out for £11m.
The Serie A co-leaders are only permitted to sign one non-EU player and that looked set to be Sevilla's Martin Caceres but that deal has stalled because of a dispute over the transfer fee.
Guarin joined Porto in 2008 from Saint-Etienne and has been capped 36 times by his country.
