Roberto La Fiore, the Italian agent of Vasco da Gama midfielder Romulo, has revealed that the Brazil international has caught the attention of Inter with his excellent performances in 2011.
The 21-year-old holding midfielder made his official first-team debut at Vasco in June 2010 and has since developed into a key player at the Bacalhau.
Romulo was rewarded for his excellent development with a maiden call-up to Brazil's national side last year, and a transfer to Europe now seems to be on the horizon for the youngster.
"Inter really like him. He is one the players they are closely monitoring. There has not been official contact yet, though," La Fiore said to Goal.com.
"There's no guarantee that he will be on the move in January. A summer transfer seems more likely at the moment. Vasco's asking price could prove to be a problem. They want €6-7 million [£5.5m] for Romulo and not every team can afford that."
Romulo has a contract with Vasco da Gama until December 2015.
