Round 12

Table/Results

GOALKEEPER

Federico MARCHETTI
Lazio
TOTW Apps: 1

The shot-stopper miraculously denied Napoli a win at Stadio San Paolo as they bombarded his goal, but each time Marchetti came up with the best response to ensure Lazio held on by a fingernail for a point. He performed many fine stops, arguably his best from Ezequiel Lavezzi deep in injury time as he diverted the ball from flying into the bottom corner.
DEFENDERS

S. LICHTSTEINER
Juventus

Andreas GRANQVIST

Javier ZANETTI
Inter

In a 3-0 win over Palermo, Lichtsteiner was superb down the right side, contributing a textbook low pass for Alessandro Matri's goal. The Rossoneri were never in danger of conceding a goal in Florence thanks to Thiago Silva, who marshalled Alberto Gilardino with ease including one superb intervention toward the end of the first half. Genoa played half the match with 10 men, but Granqvist made up for the loss of the red-carded Luca Antonelli by putting on a clinic in defending to preserve a clean sheet in the one-goal victory against Novara and the footballer that seemingly never stops, Zanetti, snuffed out Cagliari's attack and also caused them plenty of problems with his barnstorming runs forward from left-back.

MIDFIELDERS

Marco PAROLO
Cesena

Fernando GAGO
Roma

Radja NAINGGOLAN
Cagliari

Cesena earned their first win of the season at Bologna with a spectacular goal from Parolo, who was rewarded for his effort as his strike left the keeper helpless and whistled into the top corner. Meanwhile, Gago may have had some fortune in scoring his winner against Lecce, but was industrious and is becoming a key part of Roma's improved form acting as a reference point in midfield. Nainggolan ended up part of a losing effort for Cagliari, but was excellent throughout, breaking up many Inter attacks and taking the game to the Nerazzurri even at 2-0 down.

FORWARDS

Jonathan BIABIANY
Parma

German DENIS
Atalanta

Zlatan IBRAHIMOVIC
AC Milan
TOTW Apps: 3

Parma halted Udinese in their tracks with a comprehensive 2-0 win. Biabiany was the main protagonist, his work down the right flank leading to a headed goal and a spot-kick converted by Sebastian Giovinco. Another man in the spotlight was Denis, whose impressive form saw him bag another brace in the 2-2 draw with Siena to take him to the top of the Serie A scoring charts with nine goals.

Finally, it certainly was not Ibrahimovic's fault that Milan failed to break the deadlock on Saturday. He superbly orchestrated the attack, setting up several chances that were spurned by the likes of Clarence Seedorf and Alberto Aquilani with neat flicks and through balls.
