The Netherlands captain has been told he would be met with open arms at the Eredivisie powerhouse after the player admitted he hopes to end his career with the Eindhoven side
The 34-year-old spent six years at the Dutch club, winning four league titles and a KNVB Beker before joining Barcelona in 2005, and he recently admitted that he would like to return to the Eredivisie side to end his playing career.
Brands has now said PSV would welcome the Netherlands captain back with open arms, but insists the club have made no contact with the midfielder yet.
"Mark van Bommel is welcome," Brands told Voetbal International. "As a club is not allowed to speak to a player until six months before his contract expires, we have not made Mark an offer.
"In our opinion, it is not necessary to do that right away on January 1, because we all know the situation. Mark really wants to return and we want the same."
