The San Paolo side's coach was not best pleased with his players' display against the Serie A champions, despite their impressive winNapoli coach Walter Mazzarri has revealed his frustration with his side's poor start to Sunday's Serie A match at home against AC Milan.
Although the hosts recorded an impressive 3-1 win courtesy of a Edinson Cavani hat-trick, Mazzarri was far from pleased with the San Paolo club's performance, as he feels they were nervous and showed Milan too much respect.
"To be honest, I didn't really like our performance against Milan. Our start was pretty disappointing and we really can't afford to step onto the pitch like that," Mazzarri said at the post-match press conference.
"We looked very nervous in the opening stages and have to improve in that area. We have to change our attitude against the so-called big teams. We paid them too much respect.
"Obviously, we have to take into account that we faced one of the best teams around, but we could have caused them much more problems with the right approach.
"We have put in some much better performances than this one."
Napoli sit joint first in the Serie A table with six points from two games following their win over the title holders.
