thumbnail Hello,

The veteran Argentina international did his best to take the positives from defeat to AC Milan in the Super Cup and was not too bothered about the current teething problems

Inter captain Javier Zanetti acknowledged his side will require more time to adjust to the 3-4-3 system employed by their new coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Zanetti was speaking after Inter's 2-1 defeat to rivals AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana on Saturday, in which the Serie A champions recovered from Wesley Sneijder's opener to secure the trophy, courtesy of strikes from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng after the break.

"In the first-half, we were very comfortable, especially at the beginning," he told Inter's official website. "Then, we became a bit confused, particularly in the second period.

"However, this is fine and it is no problem if it happens along the way at a team like Inter. This year we are putting togther something new.

"In order to adjust to Gasperini's new tactics, we need a bit of time."

The versatile Zanetti warned however that they must learn from their errors and continue to put the hard yards in ahead of the upcoming Serie A season.

"The important thing is to look at our mistakes, see where we went wrong and not repeat them anymore," said the veteran Argentina international.

"We must correct them and be ready at the start of the season. There's a lot of hard work waiting for us, and we have the time and desire to do it."
