thumbnail Hello,

The representative of Italy's World Cup winner insists talk of a move to the capital club is just hearsay and suggests the shot-stopper will remain in Turin

Gianluigi Buffon will remain at Juventus for the foreseeable future, despite a stop-start season, according to his agent Silvano Martina - who has ruled out a transfer to Roma.

Thomas DiBenedetto's recent takeover at the capital club has led to widespread speculation that he will provide a cash injection to bring in top players - including the 33-year-old Italian international.

However, Martina says Buffon's future is with Juventus.

"The papers are saying Buffon to Roma, but at the moment there is nothing concrete. They just need to fill the pages, but the reality is that he has two years on his deal and he is happy to stay in Turin," Martina told Sky Sport Italia.

If things were to change, LaRoma24.it reports that Buffon would have to take a massive pay cut. He is currently on €6 million (£5m) per annum at Juve, wages which dwarf Francesco Totti's at Roma.

Juve are in action on Monday when they meet the other Rome club, Lazio. The Bianconeri sit seven points behind Lazio.
