AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that the club have discussed the possible transfers of Roma defender Philippe Mexes and Marseille left-back Taye Taiwo as they look to strengthen in the summer.
Allegri was speaking to journalists during his scheduled pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow's clash at San Siro with Bologna, which could see his side take another step towards the Scudetto.
"I have not heard a great deal about our plans in the transfer market next season and certainly not for the midfield," he told journalists.
"We have only discussed Mexes and Taiwo. The Nigerian is an interesting player and he could help us. There is nothing official at this stage but they would be important players for us."
Mexes, 29, is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury but has already signalled his intention to leave Roma when his contract expires this summer. Taiwo, who is 26 and could still become a Ligue 1 winner with Marseille this season, is also available on a free transfer.
