Former German captain and San Siro legend insists he is always 'filled with emotions' whenever he watches his old club, and sees the resurgence of the team as a 'real advantage'
"I'm a real Interista. I'm filled with emotions whenever I see Inter play. Who will win the derby? Inter of course. I don't say that as a fan, but as a coach," Matthaeus was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Their recent comeback is a real advantage. Their good form is a real confidence booster and makes opponents fear them. It's dangerous to be too confident though. I think Inter will win though and go on to win the Scudetto."
The former Germany international singled out Samuel Eto'o as the man who can make the difference at the weekend.
"I think that Eto'o will be the decisive factor in Saturday's game. He's a real champions and always does his utmost for the team. It's a pleasure to have someone like him in your team."
The 276th Milan Derby takes place at 20:45 CET on Saturday, with Milan leading Inter by two points at the top of Serie A heading into the game.
