The midfielder insists that the Brazilian inspires his team, and that the former AC Milan manager has a 'great personality' who is both firm, and fair
Leonardo has been the focal point of the upcoming Milan derby this weekend, as he was in charge of AC Milan last season before taking up the position at Inter just prior to Christmas last year.
"Leonardo has a great personality, and around him, we are all happy," the Serbian told Sky Sport 24. "He has an excellent rapport with the players, and it is difficult not to give it our best on the pitch for him.
"Although, he has also been tough on occasions - maybe three times - but I won't tell you when. In those moments that we saw a different Leonardo, it only lasted a few minutes and he returned to his usual self."
The 32-year-old insists that participating in all competitions is not a hindrance, whereas AC Milan, who exited the Champions League, are focused solely on winning Serie A and Coppa Italia.
"We are in the running and will fight in all competitions, whereas the Rossoneri are not," he added. "I can also say that our revival will not stop.
"Us being in the Champions League will not damage us, rather, it will inspire us," concluded Stankovic.
Inter and AC Milan will meet each other on Saturday evening, in a top-of-the-table clash with only two points separating the sides.
