Former striker Fabrizio Ravanelli is barely looking beyond the Europa League for Juventus, and claims it will take years of trial and error to rekindle their taste for the big time.

caught up with the former hitman, who will be best remembered for his strike in the 1996 Champions League final against Ajax in Rome, a game Juventus would later win on penalties.

Those days seem long gone, with Ravanelli taking a cautious approach as to what figure his former team can cut hereon.

"It will take time, you cannot have everything at once. There needs to be a programme in place, and Juventus are doing that for the long term," Ravanelli told Goal.com.

"In Italy we have to improve on these things, leaving the coach with time and allowing the youth to come through.

"I think there needs to be no rush. It will take at least two or three years before we see the fruits of their labour.

"Juventus need patience and time.

"What can Juventus achieve? I think the Champions League could be within reach, if not the Europa League will suffice."
