Juventus technical director Giuseppe Marotta rules out move for Milan striker Marco Borriello
Italian giants not interested in forward...
By Stefan Coerts
A number of reports have suggested that Serie A titans Juventus were on the verge of signing striker Marco Borriello from Milan, but the Turin side's technical director Giuseppe Marotta has now made it clear that the club will not be signing the Italian.
"Marco Borriello? No. Our transfer market finishes here," Marotta was quoted as saying by Sky Sport 24.
Milan are desperate to cash in on Borriello before the transfer window slams shut in order to be able to lure Brazilian winger Robinho to the club. The Manchester City star has arrived in Italy to undergo a medical, but Milan supposedly lack the funds to sign the Brazil international if Borriello doesn't leave the club.
Marotta's words don't necessarily mean that the Italy international will stay at Milan though, as Borriello has revealed that last year's Serie A runners-up Roma are sitting in pole position to sign the former Genoa star.
"Roma are the favourites to sign me. I am waiting for the okay from Unicredit," said Borriello.
Meanwhile, the proposed swap deal between Kakhaber Kaladze and Fabio Grosso has fallen through. Juventus had supposedly set their sights on Milan's Georgian international, but Kaladze will stay at Milan.
