Goal.com voted Wesley Sneijder as the top player of the 2009-10 season in the Goal.com 50 and the midfielder has expressed his delight at adding another accolade to his glittering campaign.
The 26-year-old was a brilliant protagonist for Inter as they claimed a historic treble by winning the Serie A, Champions League, and Coppa Italia and put in top-class performances at this summer's World Cup, scoring five times for the Netherlands on their way to the final in South Africa.
The former Real Madrid man exclusively told Goal.com he was proud to be selected as the best player of the season by our editors and also thanked his team-mates.
"I am really proud to have won this award, especially because it means I have done well for Inter and the national team. I'm happy," explained the Ajax youth product.
"I must confess that if I won this prize, the credit goes to all my team-mates who helped me this year, so I split it with them. The whole team deserves it.
"I thank all those who voted for me and all those working at Goal.com."
We thank Wesley for his kind comments as he looks forward to more success at both club and international level in the future.
