Sporting CP have confirmed Miguel Veloso will join Genoa as the player lands in Italy to finalise his move.
"We would like to inform we have reached an agreement in principle with Genoa for the transfer of the sporting rights of player Miguel Veloso and for the acquisition of the sporting rights of player Alberto Zapater, with the consent of both parties," read a statement released by the Portuguese club to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission.
And Sky Sport Italia claim Veloso is in Italy to have his medical and put pen to paper and sign his contract.
Veloso landed in Milan on Friday morning and he will transfer to Genoa for his medical tests. Once those are complete, the Grifoni are expected to announce the move officially.
The Portuguese international has described his move to Serie A as "a dream".
Genoa are expected to pay Sporting €7.5 million (£6.25m( plus the full ownership of Zapater. Veloso could be unveiled later when the club plays a friendly against Varese.
