Juventus are pushing the boundaries in their pursuit of Manchester City target Edin Dzeko, setting his club Wolfsburg a €30 million (£25m), seven-day take it or leave it ultimatum.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Bianconeri president Andrea Agnelli has raised the £25m to ensure his team wrap up a deal with the Germans over Dzeko, but even that may not be enough.
And if Wolfsburg are not tempted to trade, Juventus will scrap their plans for the Bosnian.
The Germans have been holding out for €40m (£33.4m), hopeful that big-spending Manchester City would sustain their own interest in Dzeko, who has already claimed he wants to play in Italy.
Juve have felt marginalised by City's agenda, but have been willing to rekindle their negotiations for the hitman by raising their offer.
There's no more talk of a Diego-plus-cash offer for Dzeko, which didn't interest the German side. It's now a €30m final offer.
Should it be rejected, the club will focus on Giampaolo Pazzini or Alberto Gilardino.
But both Sampdoria and Fiorentina have recently claimed they have no plans to dismantle their squads this summer.
