Manchester City encouraged as Palermo & Uruguay star Edinson Cavani's move to Inter now unlikely - report

Earlier today it was reported that Inter were stepping up their chase for Palermo star Edinson Cavani. However, Sky Italia now suggests that a move to the San Siro is a step too far for the player.

Cavani has been part of a productive trio at the 2010 World Cup for Uruguay, along with Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez, and the Sicilian outfit have already stated they are resigned to losing the sought after hitman.

A stumbling block would seem to be that the Nerazzurri already have plenty of talent up front in the form of Diego Milito, Goran Pandev, Samuel Eto'o and Mario Balotelli, and thus playing time would not be assurred for the South American.

Now it seems a move to the English Premier League is more likely, and Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are rumoured to be interested parties. The 24-year-old bagged 13 goals in 34 appearances last season.
