Juventus are hot on the trail of Barcelona central defender Rafael Marquez, news daily Sport claims.
The Old Lady are desperate to increase their squad options as they bid to improve on a disastrous season in which they finished seventh in Serie A and crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages.
Juventus' number one defensive target is believed to be William Gallas, who will be out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the month, but fresh speculation indicates the Turin-based side may look to sign more than one player for this area of the field.
Fabio Cannavaro has already left the club after his contract expired, while defensive mainstay Giorgio Chiellini has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
Marquez, who has been at Barcelona since 2003, recently aired his desire to see out his contract with the Blaugrana, which expires in 2012.
However, the Spanish champions may consider offloading him in the summer in a bid to raise cash for their own summer shopping.
The 31-year-old defender, who cost Barcelona £4.2 million (€5m), has found himself behind Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol in the pecking order at Barcelona in the last two seasons, and that situation looks unlikely to change next term.
