The German giants' sporting director urges his side to move on from their Champions League defeat against Real Madrid and turn their focus to the domestic cup finalBayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer argues that it would still be a very good season for the Bavarians if they win the DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund to secure the domestic double.
The Bundesliga champions were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid on Tuesday after a 5-0 semi-final defeat over two legs but Sammer has urged the Bayern players to get back on their feet as soon as possible.
"Real Madrid have deservedly prevailed in both matches and you have to respect that. We have to acknowledge and accept that we were heavily beaten," he told reporters.
"What we have to do now is pick ourselves up, give a decent performance in our two remaining Bundesliga matches and prepare for the cup final and take the trophy.
"That would make a good season a very good one."
The DFB-Pokal final is scheduled to take place in Berlin on May 17.
