thumbnail Hello,

The former Germany playmaker would like to see Bayern Munich adopt a more direct approach to help them become more efficient though says that the coach has "inspired" him

Borussia Monchengladbach legend Gunter Netzer believes that Pep Guardiola's dislike of German football is hindering his Bayern Munich team.

The Bavarians wrapped up the Bundesliga in record time this season but have struggled since their title triumph as the former Barcelona coach looks to implement a passing game.

However, Netzer feels that he is overlooking some elements of the typical German game which could help his side become more efficient.

"Guardiola is not a fan of typical German football," he wrote in Bild.

"But there are elements of German football which he can use to his advantage to solve any problems with efficiency.

"Success does not always come to through beautiful football. That shouldn't be an invitation to play primitive football, though.

"What Guardiola has brought to Bayern has really inspired me."
