Thiago Alcantara says the help of Javi Martinez has been a major factor behind his swift adaptation to life at Bayern Munich.
The Spain midfielder joined the club from Barcelona last summer and has instantly hit it off with his compatriot, while becoming an integral part of Pep Guardiola's side.
"Javi is a very important person to me," the 22-year-old told reporters.
"He helps me with everything, both on and off the pitch. He's fantastic."
Thiago was in full flow for die Roten in an unorthodox wing role on Saturday, as goals from David Alaba and Mario Mandzukic plus an Arjen Robben hat-trick fired Bayern to a 5-1 win over Schalke.
And the Spaniard has thanked his new club for the faith they have placed in him since his arrival at the Allianz Arena.
"I don't regret the move to Bayern. It's a very good moment for me, also because my team-mates trust in me," he added after the game.
"You haven’t seen the best of Thiago yet."
After the game Bayern boss Pep Guardiola spoke of his delight at edging even closer to retaining the Bundesliga title.
"Our rhythm and our performance in the first half were very good. Congratulations to my team," the coach stated.
"Our lead has gone up and we’re closer to retaining the German championship."
