thumbnail Hello,

Phil Kitromilides explains why he is not expecting Pep Guardiola's side to be prolific in front of goal in their DFB-Pokal clash on Wednesday evening

Bayern Munich continue their relentless march towards the defence of last season's historic Treble with a trip to Augsburg in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday.

These two sides met in the Bundesliga a month ago with Bayern triumphing 3-0 at the Allianz Arena, and it is extremely hard to see anything other than a win for Pep Guardiola's team this time around.

Coral price a victory for the visitors at 1/4 (1.25) while Augsburg can be backed at 17/2 (8.50) and the draw offered at 9/2 (5.50).

Yet, while Bayern managed three goals against Augsburg back at the beginning of November, there is no guarantee that they will be equally as prolific on Wednesday.

Saturday's trip to Werder Bremen will have a higher priority for the European champions and we could well see some squad rotation against Augsburg.

Bearing this in mind then, the price of 10/11 (1.91) for Bayern to score under 2.5 goals looks interesting. While Guardiola's men have been winning games this season, they have been less prolific than last term.

This bet has paid out in the majority of their Bundesliga games so far, as well as in each of their last three visits to Augsburg.

It might feel wrong backing against a team like Bayern scoring goals, but in fact, there is every chance that they will score less than three goals.
