The forward played 45 minutes in Germany's 5-3 win over Sweden on Tuesday and he was delighted to get a run-out with the national side.
"It was important to me after such a long time away," he enthused. "I’ve not been able to play regularly for the last five months, so it’s just been good to get back out onto the pitch."
Gotze has made just three Bundesliga appearances so far this term and has yet to find the net for Bayern in an official game.
