thumbnail Hello,

The Hamburg duo are rewarded for their efforts in bringing down the holders for the first time in 31 games, while Bayern are represented in equal measure after easing past Schalke

Borussia Dortmund suffered their first defeat in over a year in the Bundesliga as they were beaten 3-2 by a struggling Hamburg outfit.

Elsewhere in round 4, Bayern Munich had few problems against Schalke, winning 2-0, while Mainz, Hoffenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt also prospered. Goal.com is on hand to name all the outstanding performers of the round.

Dortmund's 31 game unbeaten run came to an end but it could have been different if it was not for the Hamburg shot-stopper Rene Adler who made some wonderful saves in the first half to deny BVB.  Son Heung-Min's double, made the surprise result possible with a powerful header and a sublime individual finish.

Hamburg's Ivo Ilicevic provided great service down the left flank and put in a stunning display also getting on the scoresheet, rifling home the all-important second near the hour mark. And despite his team's defeat, Ivan Perisic made our team with a strong showing grabbing both goals for Jurgen Klopp's men.

Meanwhile, after a subdued start to proceedings against the Royal Blues, Thomas Muller eventually clicked into gear for the Bavarians, assisting the first goal and scoring a real peach of a second. Toni Kroos netted again, profiting from Muller's smart play, to register his league goal of the season, and showed great maturity in Gelsenkirchen.

On Sunday, Dani Carvajal grabbed all the plaudits for Leverkusen. The right-back was the best player on the pitch and his performance was a throwback to the tireless displays of former hero Arturo Vidal. On the other side, Fabian Johnson is rewarded with a place in our prized XI, proving the catalyst in Hoffenheim's maiden 3-1 success over Hannover.

Other noteworthy figures include centre-back NIko Bungert, who was the commanding presence at the back for Mainz, laying down the foundations for a comprehensive 2-0 success over Augsburg, and his uncompromising team-mate Eric Choupo-Moting. Defender Stelios Malezas continues to impress at Bundesliga level for newly-promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf, having helped stifle Freiburg.
