The captain of the Bavarian giants is determined to capture silverware in the upcoming campaign after a disappointing last term and believes that his club has the squad to do so
The Bavarians suffered a heartbreaking 2011-12 campaign, finishing as runners-up in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal to Borussia Dortmund, while losing in the Champions League final to Chelsea on penalties.
Lahm maintains that the results of the past season were unacceptable, but feels his team’s strength in depth will be the key factor in clinching silverware in the new campaign.
“We finished second three times [last year]. This is not acceptable,” said Lahm to Goal.com Germany.

“At Bayern, the goal every year is the same. We want to be German champions. We also want to be successful on all fronts.”
“We have a planet of players in the team to take responsibility. We have so much depth [in the squad] that if someone struggles, it will not be noticed.”
The Bayern captain also spoke positively about the potential signing of Javi Martinez, with his club currently locked in negotiations to secure the Athletic Bilbao midfielder's services.
“Good players are always welcome. After last season, each position is being questioned and that is a good thing,” he concluded.
The 28-year-old has spent his entire career at Bayern, and with 91 caps, is closing in on a century of appearances for the German national team.
