Mario Mandzukic has stated that the decision to join Bayern Munich from Wolfsburg this summer was an easy one.

The Croatia international has moved to the Allianz Arena to bolster the Bavarians' attacking options, and the 26-year-old confessed that he did not need to think twice before choosing such a prestigious club.

"I had other offers, but I want to win the title with Bayern. That is why you play football. The decision was not difficult," Mandzukic told

"I cannot wait to finally get started. I must perform well in training and will use all my skills to play regularly.

"I think I'm going to be on the bench sometimes, but I will assert myself again. I look forward to playing alongside Claudio Pizarro and Mario Gomez - it will make me an even better player.

"I always want the ball and want to play. The only thing that matters to me is that we win. I have no idea how many goals I'll score."

Mandzukic replaces outgoing countryman Ivica Olic, and has stated that he has been in contact with Wolfsburg’s new signing.

"I felt comfortable and very close to Wolfsburg so I am also a little sad. It was a great time. Olic and I have spoken to each other. I went there to pick up where he left off. He will also show off his quality at Wolfsburg."
