The young striker is confident plying his trade elsewhere on loan will only boost his chances of returning to Bavaria to successfully challenge for a first-team spotNils Petersen is eager to seize his chance playing for Werder Bremen next season after the 23-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Bayern Munich following the arrivals of Claudio Pizarro and Mario Mandzukic.
The former Cottbus forward moved on loan to the Bremen outfit in June, and is relishing the opportunity of showing his parent club what he is capable of in order to pave his way towards a return to Bavaria the following campaign.
"Werder Bremen is ideal for me. I have the feeling I can get a few more goals there," enthused Petersen to Bild.
"This team creates plenty of goalscoring chances given the attacking football they play, which will just be to my advantage."
"I'm here to gain match practice and I expect to score plenty. By the end, I will hopefully have made 34 appearances and converted as many chances.
"I was unable to succeed in my first spell in Munich, but when I return, I will grab every opportunity."
Bayern snapped up the youngster in 2011, but found his way into the first team blocked, making little impact and featuring only nine times for Die Roten in the league.
