The goalkeeper, who had also attracted the interest of clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter and AC Milan, had an expiring deal with Werder, and has now signed a contract until the summer of 2016 with the Sinsheim side.
"We couldn't pass up on the opportunity to sign such an experienced and successful goalkeeper. We are very pleased that it's now a done deal. Tim Wiese has represented Germany and senior level, and that says it all. I am convinced that he will play a key role in our ambitions," Hoffenheim coach Markus Babbel said.

The 30-year-old Wiese has made over 150 Bundesliga appearances for Werder in the past seven seasons.
Furthermore, Hoffenheim have also completed the summer transfer of Eren Derdiyok from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old attacker has signed a four-year deal with his new club.
"Derdiyok is a very complete attacker, who will fit in very well in our team. I am very happy that we managed to convince him to join us," Babbel commented.
The Switzerland international joined Leverkusen from Basel in 2009, and had since made over 80 Bundesliga appearances for the Werkself.
